Different colors actually come from different kinds of trees. Have a look at the graphic below for a list of trees and the different colors they produce.
This is part 1 of a two-part blog post dealing with fall foliage. In this post, we’ll focus on what causes the color change. In the next one, we’ll see what colors you can expect to see from different types of trees.

When I got to the station a couple of years ago, I started doing my weather trivia questions on the weekends. I asked the same question I asked tonight and was actually able to get it to work live on the air. This year, I’m asking it again (but am not going to be able to try it).
