I talked a while ago about the changes at The Weather Channel and how they’re playing weather-themed movies now. Well, the changes will continue with more reality-style television shows and less live weather. Here’s more in this interview… What do you think? Is this a good move? She definitely has a point with [...] High Pressure Cold Front George Clooney Dewpoint Which of those terms doesn’t belong? Well, it’s obviously George Clooney. Don’t tell that to the Weather Channel, though. They’re going to start airing movies. It all starts this week with ‘The Perfect Storm.’ NBC already has Weather Plus, a 24/7 weather channel with your local forecast every few minutes. There’s also an L-bar on the screen all the time with your local weather information. The Weather Channel offers ‘Local on the 8′s.’ They also have different weather programming that airs 24/7. What would happen if the two were to merge? Well, it’s not necessarily what’s going to happen, but it’s a possibility. According to our cousin in the print business, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NBC Universal is the sole bidder (along with two private equity firms) to buy The Weather Channel. Continue reading to find out how much NBC is ready to pay for the station and all the goodies that go along with it… |
