Change is Coming We’re talking about the weather here! After a string of very warm temperatures for early November, things will return to reality over the weekend and early next week. A cold front will come in Friday night and give us some much needed rainfall before we chill down. That’s when temperatures are warmer with increasing height, forcing the cool air underneath it to stay in place until enough mixing (sunshine) can occur. In fact, Snow in October is not unheard of, but some of the amounts we picked up today were a bit unusual. Parts of Elk county approached 10 inches, as did the ridges of western Somerset county. Hot Stuff! Temperatures this week will stay about 10 degrees above average as far as the highs are concerned, and about 5 to 10 below average for the nighttime lows. It all points to some pretty nice weather for early September and late Summer. We do have a chance at some beneficial rain [...] Back to the Usual! Our rainfall from the remnants of Fay couldn’t have come at a better time as we were really drying up. Now that it’s gone, not much rain will be in our cards through the middle of next week.
