Wow… It was cold this morning. Temperatures across the region were mainly in the lower 30s, but some locations did get into the 20s this morning, as predicted. We’re in for another cold morning tomorrow with more locations getting into the 20s.

Just an FYI… Clearfield hit 31° this morning and Bradford hit 24°.
Tomorrow morning looks to be a cold one with at least one location getting close to breaking a record. Keep reading for more on the records and the Freeze Warnings that are in effect.

What a crazy storm!
Now that the precip has started, you’d think we’d know EXACTLY what was going to happen… well, it’s still not 100% clear.
Here’s what we’re thinking right now…
FRI PM: Precip tapers a bit. Anything left tonight will be rain south and east and mix or snow north and west. [...]

24 hours later and things are becoming a little clearer… (emphasis on the words ‘a little’). The models still are not in complete agreement with the exact track of this storm, but they are beginning to lean a little more towards the warmer side of things with an inland track to this storm.

Most of the upcoming storm looks to be in the form of rain. The only place we’re really concerned about ice is north of I-80. Here’s a look at the current watches and how much rain Futurecast is spitting out.

Just another quick update…
The NWS in Pittsburgh has added Westmoreland County to the Winter Storm Warning.Â
The snow continues to fall across the region this afternoon for now, but the changeover is as close as the Pennsylvania state line. We’ll continue to monitor this storm as the afternoon progresses!
