NBC already has Weather Plus, a 24/7 weather channel with your local forecast every few minutes.  There’s also an L-bar on the screen all the time with your local weather information.

The Weather Channel offers ‘Local on the 8′s.’  They also have different weather programming that airs 24/7.

What would happen if the two were to merge?  Well, it’s not necessarily what’s going to happen, but it’s a possibility.  According to our cousin in the print business, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NBC Universal is the sole bidder (along with two private equity firms) to buy The Weather Channel.  Continue reading to find out how much NBC is ready to pay for the station and all the goodies that go along with it…
