Our championship matchup was sunshine vs. summer and now we have a winner.

The fourth round of the March Weather Madness is in the books.� It was a surprisingly close race between Indian summer and and sunshine.� The score of that matchup was 16 to 14 in favor of sunshine… almost an upset!� Summer defeated spring easily with a score of 19 to 8.

There were some close matchups at first in the Elite 8, but then the top seeds� pulled away.

Final scores were:

Spring 14 Autumn 9

Summer 17 Doppler Radar 7

Snow 8 Indian Summer 17

Sun 14 Rainbows 11

That means spring, summer, Indian summer, and sunshine move on.

March Record Lows

Record Lows

Yesterday, we had a record low in Johnstown. The temperature hit 13° when the record was 14° set in 1923. Today, there’s another record low in the Alleghenies. Altoona hit 21° this morning and the old record was 22° set back in 1982.

After seeing these records, Jim and I got to thinking… what are the all-time record lows for the area?
