Another Drought This Year?

Things have been rather dry as of late across the Alleghenies, with the exception from Interstate 80 and northward. Hopefully over the next few weeks we’ll see a few good rainstorms (or snow, it’s all water!) so we won’t have to worry about fires and water shortages.

Here’s the latest from the Climate Prediction Center:

The outlook over the next 45 days or so is pretty much status quo. We did have a decent snow and ice pack for much of the winter, but as you can see above there’s some abnormally dry areas not too far to our south. Here’s the outlook through the month of May:
