1,000 Posts Later

It’s hard to beleive that we’ve posted 1,000 stories on the weather blog.  We started with a page on the main WJACTV.com website.  That didn’t have enough adaptability, so we moved to Blogger and later to WordPress.  We’ve been on WordPress for a while now.

This is officially our 1,000th post according to the stats system that we use.  I have a feeling that we hit 1,000 a while ago, but this is a great opportunity to look back and see some of the cooler topics we’ve talked about over the last 3 years.

Below the jump is a list of 13 categories with some of the cooler topics.  You can click on the category to go to a list of the posts about that topic.  Click in for the list.

Have you ever wondered what the most popular post on the weather blog was?  Well, even if you haven’t, I’m going to tell you anyway.  It is from the snowstorm from 2010.  The post is entitled “Your Snow Totals (February 5-6, 2010)” and comes in with a whopping 2,745 page views.  The big snowstorm drew a lot of people to our blog and we thank you!  The other 2 in the top 3 are both Winter 2009-10 related but didn’t come anywhere close to the number of views on the story above.  The second most-visited post is “Wintercast 2009-10” with 418 views and in third place is “Top Ten Ways To Know You’re Done With Winter” with 382 views.  Keep in mind that these numbers may not be completely accurate as you need to actually click into the post for it to count.  If there’s no “read more” button, those views are not counted.

So what lies ahead?  That’s up to you!  We would love to have more interaction on the blog with our readers.  Do you have questions?  Is there something cool that you think we should cover?  Or do you just have something to say about a topic we posted about?  If so, leave them on the blog!

Thanks for reading and here’s to another 1,000 posts!
