SUMMER FUN: Steelers Training Camp

It’s hard to believe that it is already the end of July and Steelers training camp is upon us.  Well, deal with it!  It’s here!

The camp begins today (July 30) and will run through August 20th with some practices open to the public.

Here’s some information you might need to know if you’re looking to head to Latrobe to catch the Black and Gold over the next few weeks:

From July 31 through Aug. 18, the Steelers will have afternoon practices open to the public with the following exceptions:

•Aug. 6 — night practice scheduled for 7 p.m. at Latrobe Stadium

•Aug. 7 — practice TBD

•Aug. 13 — nothing on schedule

•Aug. 14 — Steelers vs. Lions

•Aug. 15 — nothing on schedule

•Aug. 19 — nothing on schedule

•Aug. 20 — Steelers break camp

Afternoon workouts generally run from 2:55 p.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. The campus opens to the public at 1:30 p.m. when there is a 2:55 practice only. Other times vary and are to be announced.

Bad weather could cause practice to be canceled without notice. The practice schedule is subject to change without notice.

Steelers Experience: The Steelers Experience normally runs from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. when there is a 2:55 p.m. practice. The schedule varies based on practice time. Please note the experience is subject to close due to the weather. There is no Steelers Experience for night practices.

Restrictions: There is no videotaping of practice permitted. Video cameras should not be brought on campus. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on campus. Bags and coolers will be searched by security. No pets are permitted on campus.

Autographs: The best time to obtain autographs from the players is after practice and it’s at the players’ discretion as to whether or not they sign on a particular day. There are areas designated for fans to stand to obtain the autographs. There is no formal setting for player autographs on a daily basis.

Great Hall: The traveling Coca-Cola Great Hall also will be featured at training camp near the practice field. The trailer is the touring version of the Coca-Cola Great Hall which can be seen at the stadium on game days as well as other events at Heinz Field. Inside the Coca-Cola Great Hall trailer, fans of all ages can experience the storied history of the Steelers organization as well as an opportunity to broadcast a play by play call (You Make The Call) of a great moment in Steelers history. In addition, fans can try their luck on the prize wheel to win various team related merchandise.
